217lbs ( I am retaining water right now....)
........'cause I HAVE been slacking and there is no excuse for that. I WILL hit the pell every day....(is it still 10,10,10....Soly?, I can do more....) , I can and WILL do the Royal Court ( with modifications for my physical limitations) every morning before my shower. The Mag 7 however, seems to take a really long time to do and I just don't have time for everything in the morning I could do torso twists and side bends everyday and then do the full Mag 7 on Sundays, Wednesdays (since I have no class that day), and Saturdays. I have been doing an awful lot of walking since we sold the car....(yup! she is gone! I sold her yesterday for $350....YAY!!!!)
With regards to armor building, I guess the next thing to focus on would be my elbows/vanbraces, my legs/cuisses and shoulder /upper arm additions to my coat of plates, and maybe some fighting pants to go with my new fighting tunic.
School is going well, I have passed several tests with very good marks....93% on my first English test and 90% on a spice identification test. I have 2 big tests on Monday in Food Theory....lots to study this weekend!! But I LOVE IT!!!!!
I am still looking for a cooking job and have put out more resumes, hopefully I will hear something soon!
I am still going to Coronation, however Paul is not....:0( We both can't afford to go and he has graciously insisted that I go. (I LOVE that man!!) I am working on a new apron dress for the event....we'll see if it gets done....
That is all for now!

I got sick of feeling sorry for myself, and I went and did something to bring me closer to not having to worry about money so much.
I applied on-line for jobs at Caribou and the Airlane Hotel, then I went and dropped off resumes at Moxies, East Side Mario's and a new restaurant called Elements.
I then came home, made dinner and spent about 3 hours on homework. I am going to pack my packsack for the morning, make lunches, read for a while (the book is called "A Cooks Tour" by Anthony Bourdain) then go to sleep (hopefully)
sweet dreams all!

Well, it is Sunday again and it has been a week since I last posted. I have been very busy at school. We put on the Partnership Dinner on Thurs. evening. The dinner is for all the corporate sponsers and individuals who donate money to the College, as well as for all the political mucky mucks in town. Everything this week was about getting ready for that. The dinner was for 360 people at $150 a plate! We first year students were servers, so we got to carry out 7 courses to 1/4 of the people in the room as we worked in four teams that had a quarter of the room each. I had class at 8am on Thursday, and then the dinner, so as a result, I didn't get home till after midnight....and then back to class for 8am! Wheeee!
We had the 8th annual Scarlett Ship moot yesterday , out at Lady Christiana's and Lord Robert's camp on Hawkeye Lake. It was a really beautiful day! There was lots of food, singing and fun! We got a ride with Arthurus, and we got home around midnight.
I haven't been sleeping very well lately...I am so worried about money and how we are going to survive my being in school and not working that much...We're behind on the rent and the hydro, we had to bring the cat to the vet on Friday and we haven't even bought groceries yet (and we really, really need some soon) and the things just keep piling up I t is very discouraging. I have to find a job, even if it means not seeing James and Paul that much, Moxies is hiring in the kitchen, I will bring a resume there today, I didn't get the job at Bistro One.....I talked to the chef who interviewed me and I had the job until a last minute applicant came in who's qualifications blew mine out of the water and business wise he really had to give him the position. He did say he wanted to keep my resume in the "to hire at a later date" pile and that he thought he would have a position opening up in January , that he would be giving me a call for.
I am just really kind of tired and bummed out right now.......

(wore my spanky new gauntlets for the pell work) :0)
Did Royal Court (30 hindu squats, 2 isometric hindu pushups (almost did a real one!!!) and bridges on the ball)
Went at 7:30am to help my friend Kathy clean the bar and scrape gum from the carpet (I sprayed the freezy stuff and she scraped actually). Came home, finished my article for the Tor, woke Paul up at 12:30pm and had a quick brunch of tuna wraps, and then went across the street to Dave and Melinda's house for an afternoon of making plaster masks for the masked ball at Coronation (coming up in October) My mask is going to be sooooo cool! ****grinning**** but it is a surprise!!!!!
Came home around 4pm, made supper and I did some homework and I am just pooped!!!! Since I have to be at school at 8am tommorrow, I had better get to bed!
Oh yeah, we now have a new group KMiT, it is Griffin (Gordon) and it looks like we are having a fight practice on Wednesday night.....wheeeeee!!! I am actually off that day!!
Night all,

Did Mag 7
Did Royal Court, (30 hindu squats, 5 tables held for 5 seconds each, and I did 2 isometric hindu pushups, held for 6 seconds each)
I have not been very consistent lately, I am afraid.....I am working hard to get back on track, I have to flex my "won't power muscles " at 5:30am when I get up.....any suggestions???
I have however, been walking to and from alot of places and taking the stairs at school, so that is something. However, after trying to heft my first huge stockpot full of hot stock, it has become evident that I REALLY need to build some massive upper body strength!!!
I am still working on the article for the Tor, and should have it finished and ready to submit to Claudia by tommorrow afternoon.
I am also about 3/4 of the way through making my purple wool, fur trimmed Norsewoman's coat.....
James is just watching the end of the movie Armaggedon....******sniffle****** dumb movie anyhow.......

It is pouring rain today, I was soaked to the skin when I got home and promptly got into a very hot bath and felt much better after that! :0)
Wrote my test for my Safe Food Handling certificate today, and out of 50 questions, I only got 1 wrong!!
I am just taking a quick break from homework, I will post pell and exercises later.

First full day of apprentice course today! I actually got to cut stuff up!!! (with my new knives...) I was on the bus at 7am and in class from 8am till 5pm. I have more of the same tommorrow.....I LOVE IT!!!!!!
Finished my purple wool, fur trimmed Norsewoman's hat yesterday...it is lined with yellow linen, and embroidered with yellow and green, and it has a yellow, green and purple tassel on top! I am making a coat to match it too!
Oh no! I feel a nap coming on..........
Zzzzzzzzzzz.......oooooooeeeeeeeee.....puhhhhh

It is cold, grey and rainy today :0(
I have finally finished my coat of plates! Whoo hoooo! I revised the rough draft of the letter that Soly wants me to send to 5 members of the Chivalry and sent it back to her for approval. This leaves finishing my gauntlet.
I will submit the rough draft of my article for the Tor by the 15th as agreed. So this puts me pretty much on schedule.....except there is one thing I am having problems with.....time management....and as a result I sometimes have trouble finding time to fit my MF exercises in and sometimes my pell work (hence doing 20 the next day...) I live in a house converted to apartments and my pell is indoors....so I cannot hit it really early in the morning.....say 5 or 6 am (when I get up during the week) I also can't hit it late at night (like after 10pm) as well, James is in bed by this time (in theory anyways....LOL!) With regards to the Mag 7, it says to do the first 2 exercises on an empty stomach....so really the best time to do them is when I get up in the morning......I am really trying to sort this out and get into a good habit with this. I have been taking my vitamins every day....(that is a good habit), I have all but eliminated coffee from my diet (that is giving up a bad habit..) so I think that this is do-able, but it is going to take some determination.....and maybe a daytimer (and remembering to actually USE it) But all in all, things are going pretty well....my classes have been pretty easy so far (it is first week after all) This coming week will be a little more intense, and by the third week in we will be on our regular schedule. I can say that I am up for the challenge!! I have to hem my chef's uniforms this weekend as they are about 1 foot too long in the pants and about a half a foot too long in the sleeves....***sigh*** I'm used to it though.......
yap at ya later!
Bou :0)
Well day one of school went off without a hitch....except for me forgetting to bring anything to write with!! That aside, I met all the instructors and students and I am afraid to say that compared to my classmates I am oh so old! Oh well, that means that I won't be nursing a hangover every Monday morning! I found out that in the 4th semester we get to go somewhere really cool for 2 weeks!!! We fundraise all year so that all a student need bring is spending money! To give you an example of "really cool place" last years students went to Hong Kong!!!!! There is talk of Peru for the 2nd year students this year and maybe Paris (and I DO mean in France) for our trip next year!!!! I am SO pumped!!! The College also offers an apprenticeship program run at the same time as the Culinary Mgmt. course, it costs an extra $600 per semester and adds another 18 hours a week to the courseload but it also means that I could write the exam for my Chef's papers in about 6 months after graduating as opposed to 2 years or so......I think this could be worth it in the long run.
On another note, Soly's parents came this evening and picked up Ben's bed so they could bring it down to the States so he can sleep on it again.....they brought me veggies! :0) mmmmmmtomatoes, cukes, potatoes.......
anyways, my head is still spinning....
